Aston Lucas Gourmet’s roots trace back to the heart of Italy, the picturesque region of Abruzzo. In 1955, a young Italian named Finuccio, affectionately known as Fino, brought his mother’s culinary passion to Melbourne. Inspired by her home cooking, he launched a small catering business specializing in traditional Italian cuisine.
During this time, he developed a secret recipe for a homemade pasta sauce that would become the foundation of Aston Lucas Gourmet. This cherished family recipe has been lovingly passed down to Fino’s son, Renzo, who continues to make it today. With each batch of Napoli sauce, Aston Lucas Gourmet honors the past while embracing the future, delivering the authentic taste of Italy to every table. In 2020, Renzo and Sam seized an opportunity to fill a gap in the ready-to-eat meal market. They launched Aston Lucas Gourmet, a brand that would offer a range of delicious, handcrafted high-quality meals.
Building on a strong foundation of Italian classics like Lasagna, Eggplant Parmigiana, Cannelloni Spinach & Ricotta, and Gnocchi Bolognese, they also introduced a line of gluten-friendly and plant-based options, including Gnocchi Pesto and Gnocchi Primavera.
The success of Aston Lucas Gourmet was undeniable. Recognizing the growing demand for diverse and locally made ready-to-eat meals, the team expanded their offerings to include Gourmet-to-go options such as fresh deli sandwiches & wraps, a breakfast range, and salads.
